Subject: Reminder: IEEE Meeting Tomorrow (Thursday)


Dear Department,

 	We will NOT have a department meeting on Thursday,
Sept. 27, BUT, we will have an IEEE Bakersfield-China Lake
Chapter meeting (with refreshments 5:15pm-6:00pm) from
6:00pm-9:00pm on that day.

 	Note that Jonathan White will be talking about IEEE
student events, so this is an EXCELLENT opportunity to inform
computer and electrical engineering students (and even computer
science students in hardware areas) about the IEEE. Please announce
this in your upper division classes and tell any other interested
students about the meeting. Be sure to tell them that there
will be refreshments!

Engineering  Kick-Off Meeting

Hello IEEE Members,

The IEEE China Lake - Bakersfield section invites you to attend the
CSUB's new Electrical Engineering Department kick-off meeting on
Thursday, September 27th starting at 6:00pm. Refreshments and
sandwiches will be provided by CSUB starting at 5:15 pm.

This is an important meeting for members. We will begin the process of
creating a student member branch at CSUB, and we will be holding
officer nominations. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or
learning about what has been going in IEEE, this is the meeting for
you. Elections will be held at the end of October at our Technical
Luncheon Presentation.

Our Agenda is:

5:15 - 6:00: Food and refreshments
6:00: Introductions
6:05: Region 6 Report
6:10: Technical Presentations Report
6:15: LA Council Report
6:20 - 6:35: IEEE Student Events
- PSPICE / MATLAB
- Scholarships
- Mighty Mouse competitions
6:40: Introduce Dr. Thomas, responsible for Computer Engineering /
Electrical Engineering Programs
7:10 - 8:00: Officer nominations / Student nominations / Discussions
